Database Name For all file types, Database Name specifies the name of the database to which the file belongs. Database Name is optional for indexed files, message files and serial files. For these file types a database is a logical collection of loose files which offers greater flexibility for path substitution. The external name of the database is added as a prefix to the external name of the file prior to attempting DataPath substitution. DataPath substitution adds DataPath as a prefix to filenames with relative pathnames. No DataPath substitution occurs if the filename already has an absolute path. For INFORMIX, ORACLE and Rdb file types, Database Name specifies the BuildProfessional database name in which the table or relation exists. The database name should be defined. BuildProfessional will also build the database if it doesn't exist.
